Unfinished Projects

I have entirely too many unfinished projects. Here are two bags that I finished crocheting and knitting awhile ago. Both projects were really easy to do though the moss stitch gusset on the Brea took forever. The linings are pinned but need to be sewed in and then the bags need assembling. One of these days!

This is the Creole Bag from Berroco.
Yarn: Cascade Yarns 128 Tweed

Brea Bag from Berroco.
Yarn: Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece (double stranded)

The handles and buttons I picked up at M&J Trimming in Manhattan. If you're ever in the city, check this place out. They carry some really nice accessories.

Bags, Bags, Bags

This purple Booga Bag was knitted with some unnamed wool that I picked up at Stitches East. To save time, I crocheted the cord.

I've been wanting to try my hand at tunisian crochet. So I decided to give it a go by crocheting this entrelac bag. I got a copy of Carolyn Christmas' Easy Tunisian Crochet booklet from eBay awhile ago and used the technique to do this bag. The yarn is Elann's Peruvian Highland Wool. I knitted two i-cords for the handles.

This tote was based on this Lion Brand Pattern. I crocheted the bag using Paton's Classic Wool and Knit Picks Wool of the Andes.

Checking In

I just decided to stop by my blog and check in. I don't really have the time or patience to keep up with it right now. Things have been crazy. I have a new grandson who was born on January 17. He's premature but is currently holding his own. I pray that he continues to do so. Meanwhile I have been walking, knitting and crocheting like crazy. I even got a little spinning in. Great stress relievers for me. I managed to complete 3 felted bags for a CAL over at CAL Pals. And of course I had to work up some baby items for the little one as he can have his own things. I've completed a bunch of preemie caps and some blankets for him. I will get all my projects photographed and posted eventually.

Meanwhile I haven't bought any yarn at all this month. I've been tempted to but I'm holding out. Besides the way I'm going through my stash I'll be able to replenish it before September!!

It's a New Year

Okay, it's actually 13 days into the New Year. I was kind of hoping things would of slowed down but they haven't. And I'm behind with blogging. I have a lot to catch up on in blogland.

So far I haven't bought anymore yarn, yes, yes I'm patting myself on the back. However I was tempted last week at the Woolbearers Knit Out but I stuck to my guns.

I did buy some new calendars though, after all it is a new year.

I had been in the mall walking and the calendar kiosk had all calendars at half price. I couldn't resist.

I have been trying to finish up some projects though and am making good progress. I'm determined to do a better job this year with less WIPs. We'll see.

Speaking of walking I'm determined to get 100 miles in by April. I've always liked to walk. I have some new walking shoes and a new pedometer and as of today I'm 16 miles on my way.
