Another Year Has Ended

I know, it's been almost a year since I posted here. I found that this blogging business was just too time consuming for me. I have been devoting my precious free time to my crafts instead.

It's been a busy year and I have no complaints because things could be worse, especially the way the economy is. I was able to transfer from the NY office to the NJ office of my agency. It's been great being home every night and not sitting hours in traffic on the Belt Pkwy trying to get home. On the other hand I do miss Manhattan because I commuted via public transportation.

I was able to take a few vacations. I went on a cruise through the Panama Canal in April. Last month I visited the 50th state, Hawaii for my 50th birthday with a stop in San Francisco for a few days on the way back home.

I have a new granddaughter. Airyana Aliyah was born last month. I now have three grandchildren, yikes! I refuse to feel old, LOL!

I've been involved in a relationship that hasn't developed the way I'd hoped it would. I chalked it up to the fact that it wasn't meant to be.

On the crafting side, I have completed a few crochet and knitting projects over the year. I really took to quilting however and have been spending a lot of time sewing and taking quilting classes. What a lot of fun. I now have a fabric stash along with the yarn one.

Anyway for some reason I just decided to do a quick post here. I wish everyone a Happy, Prosperous and Crafty New Year!!

Cars and Quilts

I have a group of friends who love to sew. They have made all kinds of neat things. They can't stand the fact that I have a machine that just sits taking up space and they have been wanting to pull me into their sewing circle. Today they succeeded.

Actually they got me a week ago. I decided to make quilts for my grandsons and I bought a couple of "Cars" quilt kits. That first day was spent cutting squares and blocks and borders, etc.

Today I started sewing the quilt together. I find that it's time consuming but pretty easy to do. I didn't quite finish it so I'm looking forward to the next sewing day.

This first one I'm doing with help. Hopefully I can do the second one by myself.

Super Bowl Sunday, Upset and Sale

Woo Hoo! The New York Giants have won Super Bowl XLII. They played a fantastic game and defeated the New England Patriots, who are now 18-1. Yes!!!

Way to go Giants!!

Woolbearers my LYS had a Super Bowl Sale today. I picked up some Plymouth Boku and plan to cast on for the Wrap Me Up Shawl.

Quick Check In

I have received a few emails inquiring about my whereabouts. So I'm just posting a quick message that all is well. Just no time for blogging. But I have been regularily checking in at Ravelry (user name mscrafty). I am still knitting, crocheting and even got some spinning in. Oh I quit smoking. A major accomplishment for me after smoking for 30 years. I must say that quitting was/is the hardest thing I have ever done. I am working out like crazy and I'm aiming for 100 miles by April 1. I'm over half way there. I hope all is well for everyone out in blogland!!!
