Holiday Hexagons

I think I mentioned that I adore Kaye Wood's Hexagons. I also adore her quilting tools. I used the View and Do Hexagon template to do these toppers. These toppers can be used for numerous holidays - let's see Memorial Day, Flag Day, July 4th, Veteran's Day. Am I missing any?

Please take a moment on this Memorial Day to honor those men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Hexagon Table Toppers

I managed to get my hexagons stitched together for these table toppers. At first the sewing of these hexagons intimidated me but then I came across this video by Kaye Wood, Hexagon Cut and Sew. Sew simple!!

Stitch N Pitch

The NY Mets Stitch N Pitch is next Saturday, June 5 at Citi Field in NY. The Mets are playing the Florida Marlins. I haven't been to the new stadium yet and have been wanting to go so I decided Stitch N Pitch Day is the perfect time.

Also at this particular event they are attempting to set the Guinness World Record™ for "Most People Crocheting Simultaneously." Click here for more information.

Maybe I'll see you there????

Friday Night Sew In Projects

The Friday night sew in for May was a success for me. The past few sew ins I didn't get much accomplished if anything.

I completed a table runner that I had started last weekend. I used the tumbler die from my Accuquilt Go Fabric Cutter and 4 different black/white fabrics. For the backing and binding I used a red/black print.

I also cut some hexagons that I'm going to put together to make two table toppers. I think that sewing these together is going to be a challenging session.

Lastly I finished my apron and some oven mitts for the Pin Up Hot Mama Apron Swap. This is just a sneak peek. I'll post more on the project at another time.

Easy Striped Table Runners

Last weekend the Jersey Girl Quilters got together for a sewing day and we made the Easy Striped Table Runner. This is one pattern that is named correctly. I couldn't believe how simple and quick it was to do until I made one. Yesterday I made three more.

Wall Hangings

Here are a few wall hangings I did a while ago and forgot to post them on the blog.

I made this for my mom. I used a picture taken at our family picnic last summer. I had did another one out of orange material. Well the orange faded into the white. I have learned to test fabrics before using, especially the lower quality material.

I had taken a class at my LQS, Piecing With Grace, on landscape quilting. This technique is really cool. BTW Piecing With Grace has closed. And Pastimes Quilt Shop maybe closing shortly too.
