Quilt Odyssey

My buddy Gail and I decided to head to Hershey PA to check out Quilt Odyssey, a quilt show with exhibits and a pretty extensive Merchants Mall. I took some pictures of some very nice quilts. Unfortunately they aren't allowed to be posted on websites.

When we got off the PA turnpike this sign caught our eye. Of course we had to stop and check it out.
On the way back we stopped at the Hayloft. We had visited Hayloft earlier this year when we did the AQS show in Lancaster.

The store is literally a loft with rows and rows of fabrics.

I got a few things to add to the stash.

All in all it was a nice, fun day.

It's a Hoot!

I received the cutest swap package from Regena, tiki owls.

The apron is reversible! I love reversible aprons.

Regena included some goodies, a tissue holder, a rotary cutter case, mini photo album, some fabric that was leftover (this works great because I still have some of this owl fabric left from when I made a few bags) and the cutest little owl pendant. It is adorable.

Thank you Regena for a lovely package.

On another note, here is Kerry modeling the apron I sent her. I borrowed the picture from the Flirty Apron Swap Blog. I think she looks great it in.

A cover and a case

This was supposed to have been my Friday Night Sew In Project. However, I was too hot and exhausted by the time I got home to be bothered with sewing. So I worked on my project this weekend. I made an iPad cover and eyeglass case.

There were tons of tutorials on the internet for an iPad cover. But I decided to use the Cash N Carry pattern which I used for the eye glass case. I just changed the dimensions. On the inside I used fleece and peltex so the case is nice and sturdy.

With the smart cover attached to the iPad the fit is really snug. I'm going to make the next one a little bit bigger.

These two pieces match my summer tote and lunch bag. I need to get started on a fall assemble.

Noro Cowl

I joined a little SKAL (Spin and Knit Along) over at Ravelry. The pattern is called Rainbow Scales Cowl by Joy Gerhardt. For the yarn I used Noro Aya with a US 6, 16 " circular needle. It still needs blocking, but I like how it turned out.

Lunch Tote

I needed a new lunch bag so instead of buying one, I went through my patterns and remembered I had purchased the Desk Deli Tote pattern by Quilts Illustrated.

I used fabric that matched the summer tote I made a few months ago. For the lining I used PUL fabric so any spills or stains can be wiped off. For the batting I used Insul-Fleece as it is supposed to keep things cold longer.

This was a fun project. I can envision sewing up a few as gifts with plastic ware, water bottle, etc. inside.

Aloha Apron Package Completed

I finished my Aloha apron and am mailing it off to the recipient. Hopefully she will like it.

One of the tuck ins were coasters. I found this super easy and quick tutorial on another blog: Fabric coasters.

Bags and Things

I made this bag at the last sewing day with my pals, the Jersey Girl Quilters.
The pattern is the Mondo Bag by Quilt Smart.

The bag was made using the printed interfacing and pattern by Quilt Smart and 208 2 1/2 inch squares. I used a jelly roll which saved on cutting.

LinkWith the leftover strips I made these pouches. Both patterns are by Atkinson's Designs. The larger one is the Zippy Strippy and the smaller one is the Cash and Carry pattern.
