I thought last night was the sew in. Duh, I need to check dates, LOL. Anyway I ended up having company that stayed over, my dd and her 3 kiddies. So instead of sewing I'd concentrate on organizing projects. I have 3 block of the month (BOM) projects from last year that need to be put together. I have decided not to start any other projects (the exception being aprons for the swaps I've committed to) until these are done. So last night I gathered all the blocks and all the finishing materials together to see exactly what I needed to do to finish up these projects.
This project was a paper piecing project from Piecing with Grace, a LQS. This was my first BOM since I've started quilting. I learned paper piecing at the shop. These are the fabrics from the finishing kit to complete the project.
Next up is the BOM from Pastimes Quilt Shop. I completed the blocks a few weeks ago at the Jersey Girl Quilters get together.
The shop has a finishing kit but I decided not to go with it. I have these matching fabrics and still need to decide how I'm going to complete the top. This will be a quilt that will be donated somewhere down the line.
The last project was another one at Piecing With Grace. This project consists of embroidered blocks and is named the Crazy Compass Quilt by the Hoop Sisters. This was a quilt as you go project so all that is left to do is add the sashing and the binding.
I'm going to use the leftover material to complete the sashing and binding of these blocks. I'm anxious to get this one completed because it matches my newly created sewing room.
Lastly I decided what fabric I'm going to use to do my apron for the Martini Madness Apron Swap. Aprons have to be mailed by February 8 so I need to get busy on it.
So I didn't get any actual sewing done but at least I organized my projects and now know what I need to do. I have my work cut out for me, don't I? Now what I need to do is find the time.

Orange Clapotis Finished
I haven't posted a knitted project in years. Actually I haven't completed many projects at all. I think I finished a bag last year and maybe 3 shawls. I have been posting my finished objects over at Ravelry.
So since I'm determined to do better at blogging I'm posting this Clapotis that I finished. I made it for my loctician for Christmas. A loctician is a beautician, someone who specializes in hair locs. Anyway Cinzia my loctician loves the color orange. I had the perfect yarn, 4 skeins of Cascade 220 wool, so I knitted up this orange clappy for her. She loves it. This was the 4th Clapotis I've done. It is a simple project to knit though the straight section of knitting seems neverending.

Cheap Hot Mama Swap Completed
I received my apron from the latest Hot Mama Swap hosted by Val. The rules for this swap were very simple. Use material from your stash to make the apron and send to your partner along with some of your favorite recipes.
So I put together this package to send to my partner who I can't mention yet because I just mailed it today and she didn't get yet . I hope (they) both like what they get. I sent two of my favorite receipes along, one is for a cherry cream cheese pie and the other a fabulous taco dip.
I'm editing this post as my partner, Jill, received the package. Jill has a daughter so I decided to make a little apron with the remaining fabric. What I didn't know was that the apron arrived right before the little one's birthday. Perfect timing. You can see Jill and her daughter modeling there aprons by clicking here.
I received an apron from Jody from Alaska. Perfect for Valentine's Day. Thank you Jody. There was a yummy sounding receipe for Salmon in the package. I love salmon and definitely plan to try the recipe.

Christmas In January
This past weekend my quilt buddies (we formed a guild and are called the Jerseygirl Quilters) met for the first time this year. We exchanged holiday gifts.
The bags were filled with all kinds of goodies. Goodness, I have enough to keep me busy all year.
Here are the bags I took with me.
