Let Me Be An Angel

Shawnee, the swap mama over at the Flirty Apron Swap needed an angel for a new swapper. Yeah someone failed to follow through. Which is unfortunate. I know how it feels because for my very first swap, I was flaked on. So I sewed up this quick apron and sent it off. I hope the swapper likes it.

A Shawl and a Scarf

Here are two knitted projects that I recently completed.

First is the Motley Shawl from the fall 2010 issue of Knitty. I absolutely adore entrelac knitting and this was a really fun project for me. I used three different colorways of Noro Silk Garden Sock Yarn.

Second, this is a simple no pattern scarf that I had been working on for far too long. I also used Noro Silk Garden Sock yarn in two colorways.

NJ Shop Hop for 2011

My quilting buddies and I did the NJ Shop Hop again this year. One buddy couldn't make it but we did have another wonderful quilter join us. To read about our adventure check this post at Jersey Girl Quilters Blog.

At the different shops I came across these cool little signs:

I saw these during the shop hop and picked up for my sewing room and for my quilting group.

Spring Fling Apron Swap Completed

Yet another successful apron swap. This one being Shawnee's Spring Fling Flirty Apron Swap. I received this lovely package from the wonderful Renee. The apron is absolutely adorable and the tuck ins are all delightful. Thank you so much Renee!

Here's the package I sent. My partner should be receiving it any minute now. I won't mention her name yet but if she were to see this post, she would know it was for her, LOL!

April Friday Night Sew In Project(s)

I had really been looking forward to the sew in last night. However, I was pretty tired once I got in. It had been a long day. Actually it has been a really long week.

I did a little sewing on this NY Mets quilt that I started for my son. But after about 30 minutes I settled down with some needles and started this scarf instead. It took less effort than sewing.

Now I'm working on my taxes. I took a break to do this post. After the taxes are done I plan to really get some sewing done I have an apron to make and some Easter goodie bags.

Happy sewing, quilting, knitting, spinning, etc. whatever meets your fancy!!!

More Newport Bags

I guess you can call me the Bag Lady since I made a few more bags. I made two more Newport Bags because I really love the pattern and the bag. I altered the pattern a bit by making the straps longer.

This one I made for my sister as a belated birthday gift.

I am not sure what I'm going to do with this one. I may just use it myself. I could use a nice spring like bag. Also I have some more fabric that matches this bag. I may make a tote or lunch bag as a coordinating set. I'll shall see.

Reversible Bags

These bags were quick to make. Seriously you can do one in under an hour. The pattern is the Reversible Purse or Double duty Bag featured in the Spring 2011 Quilts and More magazine. It is also posted online over at All People Quilts. There's also a video posted with instructions.

I added interfacing to the pink bag and fusible fleece to the owl one to make the bag more sturdier and padded. I also made the straps longer. Quick project. I will definitely be making more of these.
