Ayumi's Lunch Tote

I came across this tutorial by Ayumi for a cute lunch tote and decided to sew one up.  I like how the tote has a cover on it. For the lining I used PUL fabric because it's easy to clean.  Go check out Ayumi's blog, she has some nice tutorials posted.  Thank you Ayumi for sharing!!!

A Few More Pillow Cases

Yesterday I sewed up a few more pillow cases so I have a total of four to send to the ConKerr Cancer Organization.  Hopefully they will make a few sick kiddies feel better.  I will wash them today, then pack and get in the mail this week.

Friday Night Sew In

It has been awhile since I participated in a FNSI. And after working all day, then going to Zumba, I wasn't in the mood to sew once I arrived home last night.  But since this sew in was for a good cause I made myself go into my sewing room and whipped up this quick pillow case.  The sew in  hosts asked that participants make a pillow case for a critically ill child.  You can read about the cause at the ConKerr Cancer website.  I hope the pillow case helps brighten a child's smile. I'm going to make another, then I can wash and mail them off.

NJ Shop Hop Day 4

I made it to the last two quilt stores today and finished the shop hop.

Quilting Possibilities - Forked River, NJ

Olde City Quilts, Burlington NJ

I turned in my completed stamped passport at OCQ since it was the last shop for me to visit.

The shop hop goes until Sunday, April 22. Then the 11 shops will get together and draw the winners of the prizes. It would be nice if I were one of them. Regardless, the hopping this year was a bit kaotic due to my busy schedule but I made it and added to the stash along the way.

NJ Shop Hop Day 3

Today was a long day of shop hopping. There was a bus full of quilters going to all the northern shops. Goodie bags were given out. Raffles were drawn. I managed to win a fat quarter, LOL! The day started and ended in Pennington. It was a fun day spent with others who share the love of quilting.

Aardvark Quilt Shop - Morris Plains, NJ

Cozy Quilt Shop - Maywood, NJ

NJ Shop Hop Day 1

The NJ Shop Hop has begun. This years hop is 10 days instead of 5. Because of my busy schedule I'm not hopping with my buddies the Jersey Girl Quilters. It actually started April 13, 2012. However I was out of town so I didn't start until day, April 15. I went to Chicago for the weekend so I didn't start until I returned today. I went to Swedesboro directly from the airport.

First Stop - Needles & Pins, Swedesboro, NJ

Second Stop - The Village Quilter, Mt. Holly, NJ

The Forgotten Mondo Bag

I just realized I never posted this Mondo bag here. I had posted it on the Jersey Girl Quilters blog because I made it during one of our sewing days. This was mondo # 4 and it was a gift to a very special person who will get the matching Bermuda Bag for Mother's Day. I made this with a jelly roll of batiks.

Bags, Bags, Bags

It is not the first time I had this title for projects. Besides the bag for the owl swap I made a few others this month.

These two bags were made from the Bermuda Bag pattern by Pink Sands Beach Designs. If you remember I made Mondo bags out of these fabrics. I used the remaining strips from the perspective jelly rolls. Both will be gifts to the recipients of the Mondos.

Next up is the Candice Bag Pattern by Lazy Girl Designs. This bag went together quickly just like the other bags by this designer.

And lastly my 5th Mondo Bag. This one I'm keeping for me. I already used it. I had to take a trip to Phoenix, AZ and this was my carry on bag. Fits perfectly under the seat on the plane.

Owl Swap

I participated in an owl swap hosted by Jill. For the swap you had to craft at least two owl items.

Here is the package I received from Val. See how crafty she is?? Thank you Val for these wonderful owlies!!!

This is the package I sent to my partner. I made the handbag, pouch and the key chain, which is embroidered lace. I hope she likes her owls.
