Birthday Goodies
The Jerseygirl Quilters had a sewing day and we celebrated my birthday. Again I was amazed at all the good stuff they gave me. This will keep me busy for a longgggggggggg time. Thanks Jerseygirls. You ladies are the best.
I also got a nice gift certificate for Olde City Quilts, along with some yummy candy (this I really didn't need) from my kids. Thank you kiddies!

Quilt Shop Visits
I spent two weeks in San Diego working. I was able to find and visit two quilt shops while there. I bought just enough fabric to cause my luggage to be overweight. Nothing that a bit of rearranging couldn't handle.

NY Sheep & Wool Festival at Rhinebeck
Finally I made it to the NY Sheep & Wool Festival held at the Duchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck NY. It was all that and more. The crowds were in abundance on Saturday. Sunday was not as crowded. I enjoyed myself both days and came home with lots of goodies.

Yearly Quilt Away
The Jerseygirl Quilters and I went to the Poconos for our yearly Columbus holiday week quiltaway. This year four of us went instead of three. As usual we had a blast. We plan to do this weekly getaway twice a year and are planning one for next April. I got quite a few projects done that I wanted to. I'm not posting pictures of them yet though because they are gifts.

Mystery Quiltaway
I recently participated in a Mystery Quilt Away with a few of my quilting pals. It was held at the White Oaks Bread and Breakfast in Strasburg, PA. On the way we stopped at the Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza In Oaks, PA. During the weekend we also were able to hit a few quilt shops in Lancaster, PA, one of which was getting ready to close. I have to say we all added to our fabric stashes there. Anyway it was a fabulous week away and I even got a quilt top done. Here it is:

WestKnits Mystery Shawl KAL 2012
I participated in the Stephen West Mystery Shawl KAL over at Ravelry. The KAL started July 13, 2012 and lasted 4 weeks with a clue each week. Due to my Camp projects I wasn't able to complete this one in four weeks but it is done now. This project is a keeper.

Quilts For Kids
These are two quilts I did for the Quilts for Kids organization. I try and do some charity work throughout the year. I hope the quilts will bring some sick children a little comfort.

Ruffled Flirty Apron Swap
I have enjoyed swapping for the most part but the last few swaps have really fell short. People just can not seem to do the right thing, i.e. not sending packages, not acknowledging receipt of their package, sending crappy packages, etc. As such, I'm done with swapping. . Here is the swap package I sent to my partner who I had considered a friend. But she flaked on me and didn't send a package in return. I was surprised because she had been my partner in a previous swap and I had received the most awesome apron package. Oh well, you win some, you lose some.

Camp Loopy Project 3
Project 3 for Camp Loopy is all done. It still needs blocking and I will take better pics after doing so. I'm just happy to have it done way ahead of schedule. This challenge was a to do a project of at least 500 yards, at least two colors and had to be a pattern you didn't do before.
Project: Color Affection by Veera Valimaki
Yarn: Madelinetosh Merino Light, colors Afternoon, Glazed Pecan and Mineral

A is for Apron, B is for Birthday
Cinzia, my loctician had a birthday this month. When I went for my monthly hair appointment yesterday I gave her this apron as a little token. Her favorite color is orange and she loves African prints, so she loved this apron.

Camp Loopy Project Two
Okay I am done with Project 2. The requirements for this project was to create a project of at least 800 yards using a color from the flag of your country in the project.
Project 3 will begin July 27. Requirement is to do a pattern you haven't done before, use at least two colors and must be at least 500 yards. I already have the pattern picked out. And I ordered the yarn from The Loopy Ewe.
Meanwhile the Stephen West Mystery KAL begins tomorrow. I'm glad I'm done with Camp for awhile so I can concentrate on the West Knit.
Happy Knitting!
Project: Secret of Change by Veera Valimaki
Yarn: Dream of Color Smooshy
Needle: 6 and 8 US

Summer Bags
It was so hot over the 4th of July holiday that I spent the majority of the time inside, under the air knitting and sewing. Besides working on my Camp knitting project, I made this set consisting of a purse, a tote, iPad case, eyeglass case and some other miscellaneous pouches.
Pattern: The Professional Tote by the Creative Thimble

Camp Loopy 2012 Project One
I finished two items for the first project of Camp Loopy 2012. The first challenge was to knit a project of at least 400 yards by a designer from another country. I picked two patterns by designer Martina Behm and managed to finish them both.
Pattern: Hitchhiker
Needle: US Size3
Pattern: 22.5 Degrees
Needles: US Size 4
I made a slight modification. I crocheted the scallops instead of knitting them.
Cast on for project two is tomorrow. The challenge is to knit a project of at least 800 yards. A color in the project must be from your country's flag. Stay tuned!

A PreK Graduation
Congratulations to my grandson Naseem who graduated from Pre Kindergarten today. May this be the first of many graduations.
WWW Knit in Public Day
It was WW Knit in Public Day over at Woolbearers last Saturday. There were a few vendors selling yarn, fleece, etc. There was even a shearing demo. And of course there were a lot of people knitting, crocheting, weaving, spinning and chatting. The weather was perfect.
I was able to stay for awhile and work on this project - my second Camp Loopy project, more on that later!

Citron Shawlette
I started this project last May when I was vacationing at the Outer Banks of NC. I kept it for a traveling project. Since it has been over a year since starting it, I decided it was time to finish it. It will most likely be a gift for someone later on down the road.
Pattern: Citron, Designer: Hilary Smith Callis
Yarn: Malabrigo Yarn Lace, Color: Stone Blue

Multnomah Shawl
I started this project earlier this month and am happy to say it is complete. My knitting buddy Loren has a goal of one project per month. I'm trying to do the same.
Pattern: Multnomah Shawl by Kate aka Hello-Knitty
Yarn: MadelineTosh Tosh Merino Light, Colorway 186 Wellwater
Needles: US Size 4
It was my first time using this yarn and I am in love. It knits up nicely and is so soft and fluffy.
