A Christmas Quilt

I needed a quick gift so I had two charm packs that I recently picked up at on sale at two for one. I simply sewed them together to make a quick quilt.

I picked up some matching fabric for the backing, stitched in the ditch, used the Quick Easy Mitered Binding Tool and was done.

Katie Challenge

Two Christmases ago, my quilting pal Katie gave all us Jerseygirls some challenge fabric.
I finally got around to using mine.

I took this the fabric

Embroidered this snowman

And ended up with this hexagon table mat or wall hanging or whatever the recipient wants it to be.

Aprons for Gifts

These are two apron packages I made as gifts. I know one of the recipient has received her package. I'm still not sure about the other one yet. I hope it wasn't lost in the mail.

Skinny Mini Table Runner

I picked up a cute little kit from Olde City Quilts with the Skinny Mini pattern. Another quickie, I love quick projects. However, I admit it took me longer to hand sew the binding down than to make the entire runner.

Ten Minute Table Runners

I got bit by the 10 minute table runner bug. I love how quickly you can make one. I made up all these for gifts.

A Christmas Bag

I made this bag using a Moda charm pack entitled Making New Friends. The pattern is the Newport Bag by Pink Sand Beach Designs. This is the second pattern I've done by this designer. The instructions were excellent, however, the pictures would have been better in color then black and white.

Coaster Swap

I participated in a coaster swap with my crochet buddies. We have a small site that we call CALPals. Every so often we will do a small swap. This year was coasters. I received this lovely set from my CalPal Lisa.

I had to create a package for my CALPal Nancy. The pattern I used is called Peppermint Coaster. This is the package I sent. Nancy has been out of town so I don't know if she received it yet.

Flirty Apron Swapping is done for the year

My participation in the Flirty Apron Swap for this year has ended with the completion of the latest theme, Frosted Flurries. For this swap you had to create a special Christmas apron that has a snowflake somewhere on it. In addition, you had to include tuck-ins, a gift for each letter needed to spell a word from the season.

I received this apron swap package from Paula. Her word was snow:

S - snowflake cup cozy
N -notecards
O - owl ornament
W - warm scarf.

Paula also included a few other goodies in her package. Thank you Paula for a marvelous swap package.

I made up a swap package for Alli. My word was hope:

H- hot pad
O- oven mitt
P- patterns
E- embroidered towels

I made a reversible apron with the Emmeline pattern. It was my first time using this pattern. I modified the pattern a bit by adding a pocket to both sides and sewed snowflakes on the pocket of one side. My partner likes woodsy-themed Christmas type decor like pine cones, trees, etc so I used two different pine cone fabrics that I actually had in my stash.
